SIGNlanguage ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application.
We designed SIGNlanguage with privacy as a core principle. Your data stays on your device, and we do not collect, store, or have access to your personal information or parking data.
Information We Do Not Collect
SIGNlanguage is designed to operate without collecting your personal data. Specifically:
- Photos: Images you take of parking signs are processed directly through the AI service you configure and are not stored on our servers.
- Location Data: Any location information associated with your parking spots is stored locally on your device only.
- Parking History: Your complete parking history remains on your device and is never transmitted to us.
How the App Works
When you use SIGNlanguage to analyze a parking sign:
- You take a photo of a parking sign using the app.
- The photo is sent to our secure server, which forwards it to Anthropic's Claude AI for analysis.
- The AI analysis is returned to your device.
- All data (photos, analysis results, location, history) is stored locally on your device.
We do not store your photos or analysis results on our servers. Images are processed in real-time and immediately discarded after analysis.
Third-Party Services
SIGNlanguage uses the following third-party service:
- Anthropic Claude AI: When you analyze a parking sign, the image is forwarded to Anthropic's API for processing. You are subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy for this interaction.
We encourage you to review Anthropic's privacy practices to understand how they handle data sent to their API.
Data Storage and Security
All app data is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure storage mechanisms:
- Parking history and photos are stored in your device's local storage.
- Data may be included in your iCloud backup if you have iCloud backup enabled for your device.
Our servers act as a secure pass-through to the AI service and do not retain any of your data.
Your Rights and Control
Since all data is stored on your device, you have complete control:
- Access: All your data is accessible within the app.
- Deletion: You can delete individual parking records within the app, or delete all data by uninstalling the app.
- Portability: Your data exists on your device and in your backups.
Children's Privacy
SIGNlanguage is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Since the app does not collect personal information from any users, this policy applies equally to all users regardless of age.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
